Christopher R. George

President & CEO

Chris is a Certified Business Opportunity Appraiser, former president of the Association of New England Business Brokers, and current President & CEO of George & Company. Chris has been engaged in the appraisal, sale and financing of small to mid-sized businesses since 1971 and has owned 16 businesses himself. He has personally aided buyers and sellers in thousands of appraisals and sales, both on Main Street and in the M&A arena around the world.

Jeffrey M. Lefebvre

Jeffrey is certified by the International Business Brokers Association as a Certified Business Intermediary (CBI). He is the Vice President of George and Company, and has been associated with the company since 1987. Jeff specializes in the valuation, sale and financing of closely held companies. He is currently pursuing his senior business appraiser designation.

Ronald J. Kirwood

Ronald is a graduate of Harvard Business School and has been a Managing Director with George and Company since the 1990s. As a past owner of several businesses and with a background in middle-market mergers and acquisitions, he is highly qualified to represent sellers and buyers alike.  Ron is also the Senior Appraiser of our Valuation Department.

Douglas Pendleton

Douglas works tirelessly to help business owners grow through acquisition and exit their businesses for their maximum values. Working alongside Beyond Brokerage and M&A services, Doug assists business owners with comprehensive business valuations and exit strategies that add equity and value to their firms.

Lori Jacobson

Lori Jacobson has been a valuable addition to the staff over the last decade. Lori’s diverse background in sales and marketing assures our clients of receiving top notch sales and negotiating skills. Ms. Jacobson is also an accomplished business appraiser and real estate salesperson in MA.

Tim Cavan

Tim Cavan comes to George and Company after many years with Business World in Auburn, MA. His experience includes transactions both in main street business brokerage and mergers & acquisitions. He also has extensive experience in Professional Group Practice Management as an Administrator, Corporate Officer, and Management Consultant. Tim utilizes his experience to guide his clients through the complex process of selling their businesses.

Marianna T. Osipenko

Marianna returns to George and company after receiving her MBA from Babson University’s School of Management. She has proven over the years to deliver the top level results buyers and sellers alike have come to expect from George & Company’s business sales, M&A advisors and expert appraisers. Marianna is the managing director of our Boston office.

Craig Miller

Craig joined the George & Company staff to better provide professional services to clients and customers in the Western Part of Massachusetts and the state of Connecticut as managing director of our Springfield office. He has extensive experience in corporate America providing M&A advice and now stands ready to service all aspects of your main street business valuation and brokerage needs.

Chip Emerson

Chip joined George & Company in the fall of 2014 bringing 36 years of executive leadership for prestigious global manufacturing companies as well as owning and selling two businesses. Chip has extensive financial management of revenues ranging from $3M-$150M, and has managed multiple strategic mergers, acquisitions and divestitures of machining and injection molding businesses. As a Managing Director of George & Company, Chip will provide our clients with expert business valuations and appraisals, and assist M&A and Main Street sellers and buyers navigate through the sale and purchase of their businesses.

Philip H. Dotten

Phil joined George & Company in May of 2015.  Prior to joining G&C Phil owned his own multi store retail business for 24 years.  Prior to that he had a long career in executive management.  Phil has a broad knowledge in all aspects of running businesses including Top-level General Management, sales management, marketing, personnel management, administrative and financial functions.  His areas of expertise include retailing, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, trucking/fleet management and agriculture.  Over his career he has been involved directly with the sale, purchase or start-up of 15 businesses ranging from $350,000 to over $20 million.  At G&C, Phil is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the team of intermediaries covering valuations, consulting and business brokerage services to Main Street and Middle Market businesses.  Phil is also responsible for the day to day administrative functions of the company.

Ray Shaw

For more than 35 years Ray has worked with companies in the Eastern and Midwest regions of the United States. He has extensive experience in the areas of business management, marketing, strategic planning and new product introduction. Ray has owned and operated his own Advertising and Marketing agency and held several Sales Management positions.


Ray’s specialties include helping start-up companies across various business disciplines to reach maximum market penetration and profitability in a minimum amount of time. His major strengths include in-depth market research, profitable sales increases, turnaround strategies, individual and group sales, marketing training, and motivational programs. Ray has worked with companies such as Timberland Outlet Stores, Domino’s Pizza, Radio Shack & Yashica. He has also worked with a number of Lumberyards, restaurants, shoe outlets, automobile dealers, agricultural firms and multiple location retail accounts. Ray has produced & presented market research studies that focused on the positions of both the client & the competition in their respective markets and retains a broad scope of knowledge and expertise in the successful operation of Main Street Businesses.
