Christopher R. George

President & CEO

Chris is a Certified Business Opportunity Appraiser, former president of the Association of New England Business Brokers, and current President & CEO of George & Company. Chris has been engaged in the appraisal, sale and financing of small to mid-sized businesses since 1971 and has owned 16 businesses himself. He has personally aided buyers and sellers in thousands of appraisals and sales, both on Main Street and in the M&A arena around the world.


Philip H. Dotten

General Manager & COO

Phil joined George & Company in May of 2015.  Before joining G&C, Phil owned his own multi-store retail business for 24 years.  Prior to that, he had a long career in executive management.  Phil has a broad knowledge in all aspects of running businesses including Top-level General Management, sales management, marketing, personnel management, administrative and financial functions.  His areas of expertise include retailing, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, trucking/fleet management and agriculture.  Over his career he has been involved directly with the sale, purchase or start-up of 15 businesses ranging from $350,000 to over $20 million.  Phil is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the team of intermediaries covering valuations, consulting and business brokerage services to Main Street and Middle Market businesses.  Phil is also responsible for the day to day administrative functions of the company.


Jeffrey M. Lefebvre

Vice-President

Jeffrey is a veteran of hundreds of successful business sales.  Jeff has earned and maintained the distinguished ‘Certified Business Intermediary’ designation issued by the International Business Brokers Association for over 17 years, and was awarded ‘Lifetime – CBI’ status in 2018.  He is the Vice President of George and Company and has been associated with the company since 1986. His experience encompasses all business sectors, across manufacturing, distribution, services, and professional practices.  Jeff started and operated a renewable energy contracting company from 1979 through 1985.  As a stipend Graduate Student at the University of Connecticut he studied socio-economic issues relating to technology and social change.  He has a keen interest in working with diverse Entrepreneurs seeking a path forward through recapitalization, divestiture or acquisition.


Catherine M. Phillips

Director of Marketing and Business Development

For nearly 30 years Cathy owned and operated Phillips Precision of Boylston, MA.  She ran the company’s day-to-day operations, financial management, and the strategic administrative functions of manufacturing, product engineering, sales and marketing. With a strong background in business leadership and organizational development, Cathy played a key role in ensuring the company’s continued growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. With their patented product lines, she positioned Phillips Precision as the world-wide leader in manufacturing work-holding.

 

Prior to this entrepreneurial endeavor, Cathy spent fifteen years at Digital Equipment Corporation as Operations and Circulation Manager in Corporate Research and Development. In this role, she managed operations for the digital and print production of the company’s technical publications.


Douglas Pendleton

Douglas works tirelessly to help business owners grow through acquisition and exit their businesses for their maximum values. Working alongside Beyond Brokerage and M&A services, Doug assists business owners with comprehensive business valuations and exit strategies that add equity and value to their firms.


R.W. “Chip” Emerson

Chip began his relationship with George & Company in the fall of 2015 after retiring from 36 years of executive leadership responsibility of several world-class global aerospace, automotive and medical manufacturing and services businesses. Chip has extensive financial and operations management experience and has managed multiple strategic mergers, acquisitions and divestitures of businesses with revenues in excess of $150M. Chip provides clients with expert profit building services, optimization of business operations, and business valuations while assisting sellers successfully exit their businesses and buyers navigate through the purchase of a business. Ronald Ekstrom

Ron joins George & Co after serving the last 13 years as Senior Managing Director at Sunbelt Mergers & Acquisitions in Woburn, MA. Ron's experience ranges from general mainstreet companies to middle market mergers & acquisitions completing deals with various private equity groups, public companies and strategic buyers. Ron's past experiences have ranged from business ownership, publisher, general manager and holding various roles at media groups such as The Tribune Group, Media News Group and Gannet.


Bob Donaldson

Bob joins us after over 20 years of business development, marketing, sales, management, design, product development, applications engineering, construction supervision, field work and labor.  Civil and hazardous waste engineering, solar product development and deployment, contracting, construction, mechanics, automation, industrial fluids recycling, hospitality and logging encompass some of his background.  Employers include corporations, startups and small businesses.  For one 14-person engineering firm he expanded business, opened a new office and helped drive growth to 80 people.   For another company he tripled the sales pipe line in 5 months.  In serving our clients, Bobs first objectives is to listen carefully and learn what they can teach him about their interests, businesses and concerns.  A strong relationship with good communications gives Bob the edge in representing the client and makes it a personal commitment.
